I was lucky enough to be sent a few little bowsies to have a few little ones model for Jelly Toast On Cheeks Bow-Tique. I set up a little bitty casting call for a few little bitty girls, and put together a little bitty photo shoot.

The little bitty girls were treated so some fine gift baskets that included yummy lip balm, a candy necklace, and even a Littlest Pet Shop friend!

Unfortunately, it was raining out and the pictures just had to be done, so we set up the backdrop and stayed inside where it was nice and warm. But Ali and Sophia totally rocked those bows!

Good job girls! And thank you to the parents who drove all the way out here to Beaumont for the shoot. Disks will be rendered and put in the mail shortly.

This is NOT a paid gig, however you will be compensated with the photos from the shoot on disk with printing permissions and the bow or headband that your little one sports in the pictures.

BABY GIRL: Please be sure your baby is able to sit up. Baby will also be given a piece of jelly toast to gum on or eat for "Jelly toast on cheeks" shots so please bring a bib and a spare outfit. Please bring baby a green or black outfit for the headband shots.

Shiver Yer Timbers At Heritage Haunt Corona--Plus Visit Willie's Photo Booth!

Scallywags, you will not regret your visit to the Isle of Corona's haunted Callhouse Inn this evening through the 31st. Heritage Haunt Corona is a swashbuckling good time, with lots of scares and monsters and all that jazz. I daringly took a walk through the house (in the day time before the monsters came out) to take a look. I barely made it out alive.

Set back in the lemon groves, you will enter the house after completing a horrifying maze.

Tame looking in the day, IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE IN AT NIGHT. (Please visit the bathrooms BEFORE entering the maze to prevent accidents.) The Inn is a whole different set of trouble!

If you make it out alive, Willie's Photo Booth is set up at the exit and raising funds for the reconstruction of the historic Hotel Del Rey at Corona Heritage Park. We have props to pillage through and even a real live snake, whose name is Dead.

Admission to the Haunted House is just $8 per person. Photos afterwards are available for just $5 for as many scallywags as we can cram into the frame. Holding the snake in your photo is just another $2. (He's really friendly, and his owner calls him "Deaddy Bear.") I got to meet Innes and her awesome little family the other day in Redlands. She was the first baby to ever test out my new Fluffy Fluff Rug of Fluff.

She looks like an angel laying on a cloud! So sweet, so angelic, so comfy...so comfy in fact that she let loose and christened my fluff rug. LOL!

Innes is also the first to try on one of my hand made tutus, made by a clever friend of mine. I have a few different colors and I'm getting more as we speak!

Innes is lucky to have so many wonderful people!

Colleen just came by last week to get her boudoir session done and man was she stunning!

She looked wonderful and had so much fun! I assured her comfort by encouraging her to bring an escort, and listened to her concerns about showing her body. I told her that she was gonna like the way she looked, and I guaranteed it.

Adorable Little Riley! {Inland Empire Children Portrait Photographer On Location Beaumont}

How The Great Pumpkin Photo Was Done

Greetings! Many of you have been voting on my photo in the AboutRedlands.com Pumpkin Photo contest--so many in fact that we're in first place! This is exciting because if this photo wins, I will be saying thank you by making all 2012 newborn sessions free. That's a couple packs of diapers in savings right there!

Many have asked how the photo was done, and if indeed those pumpkins are really being reflected in Trucker Dave's glasses or if I Photoshopped them in.

Yes, those pumpkins are really there and no, I do not use Photoshop. I use Corel, so neener neener neener.

Let's take a look at the unedited photo.

As you can see, there's been just a few minor adjustments made to the image you've all been voting on. For starters, I didn't like how part of his nose was reflected, so I cloned it out and covered it with pieces of another pumpkin. Then, I popped the reds and greens using a digital technique that resembles a technique they used to use in film processing called "cross processing," where the wrong chemicals would purposely be used for the wrong types of film. It completely changes the look and feel of the photo.

Then, using the layering technique in Corel, I literally placed this neat old texture on top of the photograph and changed the layer properties to "overlay."

This is what gave it the old photo look, and helped to pop the greens more. The end result is the photo almost 250 people (and counting) know and love!

People have asked me if I staged the photo. The answer is kind of. What first caught my eye was this:

As you can see, he was checking out the pumpkins on the tables at Live Oak Canyon Pumpkin Patch. It was cool and everything, but I wanted to see more pumpkins in the other lens, plus you can see a person walking around (and part of my arm, oops!) Though I will make minor adjustments like how I removed his nose reflection, I won't totally butcher a photograph, especially not for a contest.

My second attempt actually shows me right in his lens.

But then I lost focus of the pumpkins, and it didn't turn out like how I wanted.

After tugging on his beard and positioning his head just right, I finally got the shot. In retrospect, if I could have had him stand on something and look down at the pumpkins, that could have also been really cool. But I love what I ended up with and by the looks of it you do too!

With special permission to shoot at the Highland Springs Resort, Mama Carolyn and her boy Ilas ran around for some pictures.

The lavender fields have yet to be harvested, so we even got to run around in those. But Ilas is a busy guy! Chasing squirrels and lizards saying "I'm gonna go get that."

"Mama, you're a big person. I need you to to go up that tree and get that squirrel for me." What a charmer.

They even had an old fashioned shoot out!

In all the times I've worked with Carolyn, I've never met her son. Now I know I'll never get enough. He's very sweet, and I was able to get some tender moments on our run as well.

I just loved this next one, which is straight out of camera.

Too Pretty To Wear Once! Mary Anne Shows Off Her Wedding Dress On Her Anniversary {Inland Empire Anniversary Bridal Photographer}

This is Mary Anne.

Mary Anne is not the typical "bridal photography" candidate, as she's already been married for two years! In fact, we shot these photos on the day before her anniversary with her husband Robbie. Mary Anne does the opposite of "trash the dress," she instead keeps her gorgeous gown well preserved and has vowed to wear it every year on her anniversary until it no longer fits.

I am so very jealous of that lovely gown! I loved her antique jewelery and brooch. Never have I seen a more lovely non-bride. And, lucky girl, her dress is actually a little too big for her since losing some weight between then and now.

If you haven't recognized it yet, Mary Anne is being photographed along State Street in Redlands.

Naturally she couldn't get away without me suggesting back alley photos...

Happy anniversary Mary Anne and Robbie, and I wish you many more years of squeezing into that gown, or swimming in it as the rate seems to be going right now.

In Studio With The Baby Girls! {Beaumont Inland Empire Baby Photographer}

Meet the two cutest girls with the two bestest ever names. Kaleia Onani Aikaika Hoopomaikai Me Aloha, and her newborn baby sister Maluhia Hoomanawanui Uhane.

The girls' mother and aunt came to my home studio here in Beaumont, where I have a few props and backdrops, and we generally hung out and made it seem to the girls that they were just visiting someone's house. Not that it would matter much to 4 month old Maluhia, but for Kaleia this made the most sense and made her the most comfortable.

I shot and shot and shot, and then put the camera down and had Willie cut up some apples for a snack, then laid the baby on things (since there's only so much you can do with a baby who not only doesn't sit up, but also refuses to be on her tummy) and shot a little more.

Now that I no longer charge an hourly rate, but instead a simple flat rate of $75 per portrait session (which includes up to six people or pets) parents don't have to stress when their tiny princess becomes a little tyrant with a mind of her own. Not that Ms. Kaleia would ever do a thing like that. Nooooooo...

Well...maybe a little. A teensie bit. Luckily, we were able to call for backup. That's where Cashew the Guinea Pig came in!

Maluhia was a baby doll though. The first ever baby girl I've been hired to shoot, I realized, as I seem to mostly shoot boys!

I myself have two boys, so big frilly dresses and bows? Totally foreign to me.

Not surprisingly, Kaleia wanted very little to do with my studio setup, so for the last little bit I took her outdoors to a little park right across the street and let her get her tutu on.

Lela At The Edward Dean Museum And Gardens {Beaumont California Photographer}

I originally met Lela at the magical Cabaret/Cirque shoot that I attended a few months ago, (and if you follow that link she's in the third photo down with the white and black makeup) and we got together on a sweltering afternoon to lollygag at the Edward Dean for a very tame sort of shoot.

Generally speaking, when I first get to work with a model I take them on a very plain vanilla sort of shoot just so we can see how our chemistry works out. If all is well, then we shoot again some other time with a more adventurous heading. Though Lela and I had worked together before at the circus shoot, this was more one on one and with less clowns honking horns behind us and such.

Lela is gorgeous and versatile. She pulled off many different looks during the shoot with just simple wardrobe changes.

We even happened upon a wedding that was being set up for later in the afternoon!

It was really hot though, as I said, so the swim suit top with the cute little skirt was her favorite outfit.

Continuing with another very beautiful model that I asked to trash a dress in the name of having something to show brides when they ask "what do you mean by trash the dress?"

Today we have Betsi in a beautiful $1 thrift store gown that is quite Marilyn Monroe-esque. She did less wrecking and more frolicking, but it gave the pictures a more alluring feel to them.

Trash The Dress: Ashley {Unique Alternative Bridal Photography Sessions In The Inland Empire}

With the roll out of the new Ampersand packages, there is mention of something called a "trash the dress" session offered along side the engagement, boudoir, and bridal sessions as an alternative "ending." Every bride asks about it, and then they think I'm crazy when I tell them that though there's many ways to trash the dress (and many reasons why it makes such fun photos) I had nobody ever agree to such a crazy thing and therefore had no pictures to show the morbidly curious brides.

So, I gathered up some models and some thrift store wedding dresses and had a blast throwing them into the ocean that slaps against Coronado Island near San Diego. We also had a groom, and a few "bridesmaids" on call for the event.

If you've ever wondered what it looks like when you "trash the dress," and if you're brave at heart enough to consider trashing your own, here's a little example.

What really made these pictures was when we sent our model groom Kevin in to lift her up out of the water.

Of course then another wave came and that's when we lost them!

Okay, okay. So you just spent $4,000 on your gown and you're not about to go wreck it in the ocean. Then why not send your bridesmaids out in their dresses for some fun? Perhaps even buy yourself an extra dress to match theirs, or buy a different wedding dress from a thrift store. Ashley's dress cost us $18 at the Oasis Thrift Store in Beaumont. We even found a second dress for just $1.

I think she clearly had so much more fun in this bridesmaid's dress. What a doll!

Keely & Seth {Inland Empire Engagement Photos}

Such a cute young couple! Had a great time shooting these two at the nature trail by Los Rios Rancho in Oak Glen.

We stopped in the apple orchards, sat on a few fences, and quacked at ducks. Keely and Seth were just being themselves.

I love how he went stomping into tall brush to check for snakes and how he'd carry her over marshy land.

Keely's so gosh dern pretty though, I just had to get a few bride-to-be portraits.

I loved it when she brought out her baby blanket so they could sit on it in the orchard!

He's such a catch! So handsome and stoic, and a Marine! Keely is sassy and adorable, what a couple!

Sweethearts: Savanna & Jake {Apple Dumplins Oak Glen Preferred Wedding Photographer}

Savanna, one of my favorite models to work with, asked if I could take some purdy pictures of her and her man since...you know, they're having a baby together and all.

Mind you, they are engaged. They just haven't picked a date. So, these are more like "sweetheart pictures" than "engagement pictures." We took these in Oak Glen, partly at an abandoned apple stand along the road side, and partly at Apple Dumplins, where Terwilliger Photo is the preferred wedding photographer.

The balloons were not such a good idea with the wind, so when we got to Apple Dumplins, they let them go.

Then we went and fooled around with all the old west props and buildings up around that area.

They're a super cute couple.

Congrats you two! Call me when there's a baby or a wedding or both!

More Cemetery Glam: Alisha & The Pink Flamingos {Inland Empire Pin Up Art Photographer}

Alisha, impressed by the other Cemetery Glam sessions I've done with clients, wanted one of her own. I threw in the flamingos and the beach towel as a bonus for her shoot. But totally forgot the coconut drink!

For the record, when I shoot in a cemetery I am respectful of both the mourners and "residents." I make sure that no monuments are stepped on and that we aren't in any areas where any mourners are visiting. Cemeteries are beautiful parks full of history and nature. Pack a lil' picnic and go squirrel watching some afternoon!

Has anyone been down to State Street in Redlands on a Friday to check out the Art Walk? I finally got a chance to, with one of my favorite models in tow because there just also happened to be a car show happening at the same time.

Lot's of shiny cars to look at, for sure, but I'm a bigger fan of the rat rods myself

We stopped by Mad Man Dan's table to have a look at his art.

I even purchased a piece of art from him. Look! A painted up thingy!

It's a flywheel from what I'm told. It's kinda steampunk looking, and I kinda like that. But some of the cars there were works of art too!

But Ash is always just so dang cute.

Pretty Mama! Bombshell Alora's Maternity Photos {Inland Empire Maternity Photographer}

Alora, such a beautiful, free spirited wild child, is expecting her little Delilah this August. Guess who was asked to photograph her in forest as she frolicked in the water, picked wild flowers, and explored water falls?

It's super fun clients like Alora who remind me why I love doing what I do. She was down for playing in the water, climbing around on rocks, and even taking a few very tasteful, beautiful photos in the buff (but I won't be showing those here.)

Alora was totally comfortable with the shoot, and she rocks the baby bump! She's got a cute hippy-ness about her, so we even stuck little felt daisy stickers to Delila's oven.

She also came with quite a wardrobe as you can see!

Dillan Is 3 Months Old! {Inland Empire Baby Photographer}

He's back for his 3 month portrait and he's ALL SMILES! And arm munches. Nom nom nom...

It's wonderful to see how much he's grown! The picture on the left is Dillan when he was just a few days old, and the picture on the right is Dillan now.

Unlike at his newborn session though, Dillan took a nice little nap right in the middle. His mother and I arranged several props on him for laughs while he slept.

The Ever Versatile Carolyn {Inland Empire Photographer For New Models}

I'm experimenting with a new flash unit, so I got together with Carolyn again, who thus far has only modeled for me. She does everything I ask of her and more.

Get ready to meet one of my newest, adorable, soon to be wed couples: Amanda and Brett!

Amanda is cute as a button, and Brett here is one of those gorgeous manly men with a fun sense of humor. They're madly in love with each other, this much is obvious.

You locals might be wondering how long Prospect Park in Redlands has had a beach complete with crashing waves. Well, let's just say that I am officially the best photographer in the Inland Empire because I FOUND MENTONE BEACH!

Kidding! Actually, the beach photos were taken at Laguna Beach the Friday before the ones that we took at Prospect. I'd never been out to Laguna before, but it's lovely!

When I sat down to meet the couple, I learned that they've been together just over a year, that Brett proposed at the park that they first told each other "I love you," and that the proposal was actually a part of an elaborate and romantic poem! And I also learned that they met through salsa dancing!

They're young and playful and energetic, which makes for some super fun pictures.

Heaven & Josh's Wedding {Apple Dumplin's Preferred Wedding Photographer, Oak Glen, CA}

Just look at this bride. Look at her!

Okay, so she's only half dressed and put together here but isn't she absolutely stunning?

Heaven is a bride who put together and planned much of her own wedding, and even did her own flowers.

When I walked into the bridal room at the Apple Dumplin's Restaurant in Oak Glen, there were wire cutters, floral wire, yards of tulle, pins, and all kinds of ribbon strewn about the room. She was hard at work on her centerpieces when I showed up, and didn't even put her dress on till 10 minutes before the ceremony!

Her ivory dress is so gorgeous, featuring champagne beading. I about died. One of my favorite dresses I've seen on a bride for sure! And she rocked it.

When it came time for the ceremony though, Heaven teared up for just a moment before walking down the aisle, but then immediately pulled it together.

This time, the groom did not get all teary, but I'll tell you. Josh is not easy to get to smile for pictures. Unless he is smiling genuinely, you can tell it's fake. But even though he did not tear up, he was surely one heck of a genuinely happy groom the moment he saw her.

Did I mention that he's an Airborne Ranger?

They had a short but sweet ceremony in the presence of their family and friends in the small apple tree filled yard near the restaurant.

The best part...

What a beautiful kiss! This couple has so much chemistry, it's hard not to notice it in the photos.

My fabulous partner Rey and I took them around the immediate area to get some formals. By the way, most of the photos you've seen so far have been straight out of camera, with the exception of some slight cropping, black and white conversion. Basically most of these photos came out perfect, and I enhanced them a little with some treatments every now and then, but for the most part I tried to keep them as natural looking as possible. I did, however, bust out my bag of tricks when it came to these formals.

This one was taken just across the parking lot near the Parrish Ranch Antique Store. Here's a full look at the scenery...

We walked up around the loop by the Old West Show and had some fun with the old rugged decor

This one wasn't a formal shot but it did make the bride cry a little when she saw it. (PS, it's straight from the camera. No cropping, no editing, nothing.)

I'm known for featuring hands, and I'm glad I caught this because Heaven told me that she can recognize Josh just by looking at his hands. That's love, people.

We arrived back at the party to toasts, dancing, and all around good times.

It was three different flavors, with all different fillings. Gorgeous and delicious!

And Heaven must be a lucky bride because look who joined them at the sweetheart table (another straight out of camera shot)

There was lots of fun to be had at their party.

I Spoke At Career Day! {Inland Empire Photographer}

This here award is a nice little feather in my hat.

I feel that I have arrived as an adult and as a businesswoman because I was a speaker at career day. Isn't that a proud moment? It is for me.

I spoke to two second grade classes, and two kindergarten classes. I was given a list of questions that I tried to answer as best as I could, plus the kids were allowed to ask questions as well. The second graders asked questions like "Have your pictures ever been in a magazine?" (they have) and "Have you ever taken pictures of a baby named Kaleb?" (I have not but I want to.)

The kindergarteners were the tough crowd. Not only because untrained people speaking to a group of kindergarteners and keeping them on task is much like herding cats, but also because their questions aren't really questions like, "I have a Nintendo DS" or "My mom takes pictures of my dog." Another problem was that they'd all just come in from climbing around in a fire truck and they all got to work the lights and stuff, and it's like...how do I follow that?

Though I did get heckled by a kindergartener, it was pretty much the highlight of my day. I brought along some prints to use as visual aids, and one happened to be a black and white photo of a baby. You all remember Ryahn, don't you?

Now most of my clients will at some point tell me "I love black and white," and it is usually followed up with "I love when it's all black and white except for just a little bit of color." Either way, black and white is very popular right now. So, lots of the photos I take are converted to black and white.

This little boy in my son's kindergarten class, who I later found out is taking private art lessons raised his hand when I was talking about my prints. So I called on him.

"Why did you take all of the color out of that perfectly good picture? I mean, it looks like it was taken at night time and what is good about THAT?"

I was floored. And I wasn't sure how to answer.

I mean I could have said that taking pictures at night wasn't so bad, since otherwise how would you be able to see what kind of monsters are under your bed, and how else would you know if it's a face gobbler or a toe nibbler, since you could probably live without a few toes but what on EARTH would you do without a face?

Instead I just said that it was a matter of artistic opinion and moved on to a little girl who asked me "My mom lets me take pictures with her camera" and I pretty much wrapped it up.

The moral of the whole lesson though was that when I came into the classroom, I had my big 70-300mm lens on with my big lens hood and all that, and I said "This is a pretty nice camera huh? It's big! Because you must have a great big camera to take good pictures huh? Well let's try something. Let's set this big ol' camera on this table while we talk and see how many good pictures it takes." Obviously it did not take any. We checked a couple of times. Then at the end, I said "I totally forgot something," and slipped the camera strap around my neck. "It's not the camera that takes good pictures, it's the person behind it."

The meaning may have been lost on the kindergarteners, but I think the second graders got it.

For those who are interested though, I have summed up the questions on the paper that I was given. I'll try to answer them just about the same way I did for the kids.

What education or training is needed for your career?

I personally learned through experience, and I learn something new about photography every single day. But, I also read books about photography, books about my camera, and I attend lots of workshops and seminars. You can also go to college and take courses for photo journalism and such, which I would like to do someday.

How did you become interested in this position?

I literally exhausted two cameras before buying my big expensive one and starting a business with it. What I mean by that is I started off with a much smaller camera, used it until I found its limitations, then moved on to a bigger one that I also used until I ran into problems like "this shot would have been perfect if only my camera could do this or that." In the mean time, people were enjoying the photography that I was producing. I knew I could produce more, and that I could produce it better, so I moved up and I'm still learning! I am also producing higher and higher quality photos and becoming more and more successful in my business. I guess what interested me most was being able to take a picture that made someone say "that is the best picture of me that's ever been taken." I like seeing the beauty in people and bringing it forward.

What are the most positive aspects of your job? The most Challenging?

On the positive side, I love that many of my clients become friends. And I love being able to express myself creatively on so many levels. I love weddings, I think they're really fun and unique and there's so much going on. I also love working with babies, but they're also really challenging. I tend to prefer wide awake newborns, which most photographers do not and will do everything they can to get a newborn to sleep through a session. I love eyeballs, so I try to keep them as awake as possible. That is hard. The other thing that is hard is that if they're awake they move, so a perfect shot can be ruined because baby decided to flail his limbs.

Are there uniforms, equipment, or supplies you need daily?

When I go to a wedding, I tend to just wear slacks and a nice blouse. I try not to wear skirts because the nature of my job is to climb on things and get on the floor and move fast, so pants are my best bet. If it's just a family shoot though, I dress a little more casual, in that I wear jeans with my nice blouse. My secret is that I am almost always wearing ridiculously long socks in all kinds of ridiculous colors, but nobody can see them, but I know they're there. It's just my personality. I am, after all, an artist and I have a lot of individualism in my photos. My socks remind me of this. Plus they make me smile on the inside. As for equipment, obviously I use my camera, or sometimes two, and I have a few different sized lenses that do a few different kinds of things, like one makes the moon appear close like when you look through a telescope, and one is really short and it's more like the human eye.

When you were in elementary school, what did you dream of becoming?

It changed a lot, but it usually had something to do with art. Like art teacher, writer, musician, things along those lines. It's very difficult to pinpoint a time in my life when I wasn't really thinking of art in some way though. I'm not sure that I ever thought of photography though.

How is your job connected to the things we do in school?

Lots of math. Telling the camera how much light to let in involves knowing lots about numbers, or how fast you want the picture to be taken. For example, do you want to freeze the person running or show their motion with a long blur? I also have to have good people skills. I can't just demand that somebody smile, I have to be nice about it and maybe even tell a joke. If you're mean to a person, it will show in the pictures. It's much better to make them feel relaxed and happy. In school you learn about being nice to your peers and that transfers to this job. So does having leadership qualities. Sometimes I even have to use peace building skills, like if two family members don't want to be in a photo together, but the bride really wants them to be. It's a really customer service based job, with lots of fun artsy stuff thrown is as well. Which is why I love it, and seem to be pretty darn good at it.

Terwilliger Photo (and friends) For Over-Revv Industries {Inland Empire Clothing Line Photographer}

This was an impromptu shoot that myself, Daniel, Bryan, and Donald did late one afternoon, totally on the fly and totally thrown together last minute, which turned into a grungy low-level style fashion shoot for the clothing line Over Revv Industries. One of the models, Lenny, is friends with the owner of the line, and decided that the location of the shoot would be a great place to feature some shirts with the company's logo.

This was new for all six of us. The models weren't really models (though Ashley has modeled for me in the past) and the photographers had no experience with featuring brand logos like this. What we got was pretty raw, and I feel that the logos could have been featured a lot more, but luckily the photos actually turned out to be so well liked that we've set up a second shoot in a five million dollar mansion.

The photos from this shoot were taken at a less stately estate, but the location was certainly more close to my signature style.

I've been scoping out this abandoned house for a little while, and though we didn't 100% follow all rules of the law in being here (trespassing) we also were able to get some very nice shots, and stay safe as a group.

As you can see, the place is pretty tagged up.

We had to be pretty careful too because of the four foot honeycomb wall of bees that lived in one of the bedrooms. Especially since Lenny is allergic to bees!

An Old Fashioned Shoot Out At Heritage Park & Museum In Corona {Inland Empire Photographer}

Many many thanks to the Smug Mug group of the Inland Empire for getting us the opportunity to go shoot at the Heritage Park & Museum, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary next month! I got to meet up with a few of the models I have already worked with and love (Savanna "Cabaret Girl" from the Cabaret shoot, Kevin who contacted me last month to start his portfolio, and of course Adar the wonder dog) and run around on the gorgeous 5 acres of grounds that the park has to offer.

That was accidentally blown out, not intentional, but the "high key" stuff is popular right now so I went with it.

This next one is an art piece I've been thinking about making for a while, featuring a couple cuddling on top of a pile of bricks. I call it "I Loved You Dumb And Colorblind," concept/pose by Jessie Terwilliger.

Yep! That's Kevin! He actually worked really well with Vanessa.

One of my favorite models, Savanna, was in a Victorian dress that was not very flattering at ALL. I snuck her off for a little while and took her to a nice sofa where I had her lay down. I figured laying her down would give her some of her form back within that shower curtain of a dress they had her in

How Long Is Too Long To Wait For My Wedding Photos {Inland Empire Wedding Photographer}

It is recommended that while you wait for your wedding photographer to finally produce the proofs (either online or in print) that you keep some nice wine on hand.

Yeah...that's a lot of wine when most wedding photographers list their turnover at 8 weeks or sometimes longer! Though wedding photography does take time, and any good photographer will ensure that the photos you are getting are poured over and inspected and corrected before you get a glimpse of them, keep in mind that at modern weddings, EVERYONE HAS A CAMERA.

Even though I have a very clear "sole photographer" clause in my contract, stating that my team and I are to be the only photographers at the event in order to avoid the trouble that comes with multiple photographers (flashes from other cameras ruining our shot, stray focus beams, "missing shots;" meaning "where is this picture that I know you guys took" when it turns out that the photographer was someone's plus one and was not on our team) there are cameras up in the air and all around just about everywhere you look.

And though I go over my photos with a fine tooth comb and only show the most flattering images of the bride, and make a few subtle corrections when necessary, think about the pictures that your friends are going to go home and upload straight from their iPhones that night.

Oh believe me. I've heard a bride in tears over her friend posting a rather unflattering picture where the bride appeared to look like a double chinned red eyed monster.

There is a reason that professional photographers are hired.

One bride confided in me that her bridesmaids uploaded pictures of "the dress" to Facebook before the wedding, and guess who happened to be logged in? Yep, the groom.

So there are two problems here. The first is too many "photographers." The second is too many pro photographers who are literally sitting on the pictures for weeks just to keep the couple in suspense. I was at a workshop where it was actually recommended that photographers take their sweet time getting photos back to clients because it creates a sense of value.

And though it is true that a soup that simmers all day long is a million times better than one that you nuke in the microwave for a few minutes, remember that a lot of folks don't waste time on either and just go straight for the fast food.

Guests who upload photos of your wedding to their social networking sites? There's your not-so-happy-meal. Professional photographers have a very tough time competing with that.

It may or may not matter to you when you get your pictures. Perhaps you like seeing what your friends got, and that is wonderful if it tides you over until the big show rolls out. But if you choose a photographer who warns you of an eight week waiting period, please realize that this means two months, or sixty days, until you may see a single good shot that truly represents your beautiful perfect wedding day.

For the record, Terwilliger Photo has a two to six week turnaround period, but our average time is much quicker. In fact, the 4/30 and 5/1 weddings were BOTH finished and handed over within 10 days of the weddings.

Just something to consider when choosing your wedding photographer.

Sounds like my own life story. Yes, that is my ukulele that one of my favorite models, Carolyn, is holding, and though I bought those socks just for her I did buy them at the place that I buy mine (and considered keeping them for myself.) PS. The name of the place is called OMG and it's on 6th and Palm in Beaumont.

Carolyn is always lovely to work with. I love her long long hair and the fact that she's fearless. She'll do anything for a good shot. She even paid a homeless man two dollars to let us take a picture of her handing him a flower.

That was totally all her. I just stood by dual wielding my cameras.

Carolyn is also good at interacting with props, like signs!

Then we went to the Beaumont/Cherry Valley area for a few more shots.

Sneak Peek For Trent & Kelly {Inland Empire Wedding Photographer At Edwards Mansion, Redlands}

Trent and Kelly's turn!

Trent and Kelly joined their families together on May 1st at the Edward's Mansion. They had a small gathering of less than 40 guests, and whenever I talked to Kelly she assured me that she was "nowhere near bridezilla," and Rey and I were pretty much given free run of the event.

As I said in my previous post, every bride's expectations of what they want delivered in their wedding photos is different. Kelly was a bride who didn't want all the girly "getting ready" photos. Her and Trent both told me that what they wanted to see was "the moments."

With such a gorgeous location for the wedding its self AND the spectacular lighting in The Green House where the reception was held, Rey and I had a field day with taking these folks' pictures. (Note that I highly recommend The Green House at Edwards Mansion based on the lighting. Oh and the food is nice. Love always, your photographer.)

I thought I'd put together a little slide show to spotlight their gorgeous pictures. Enjoy!

Sneak Peek For Ruben & Rebecca {Redlands Wedding Photographer At Edwards Mansion}

I've been teasing these poor couples for the past week by leaking just a select handful of photos to Facebook, and then taking it a step further and sending a wicked teaser photo greeting card in the mail. But now the time has come for the big "sneak peek," which is fun and all but it still isn't the whole story. Less than 50% of what's on the disks makes it to the internet (through us anyway,) so there is still lots to look forward to when those fancy gift bags come. So many more pictures, and so many goodies too.

So if you're bare with me for just a bit more teasing, here are a few of the photos my team and I took at Ruben and Rebecca's 4/30/11 wedding.

Let me start off by saying that every bride is different, and therefore every couple's photography needs on their wedding day varies. Some want pictures of themselves primping and pampering, and some just want the ceremony and the formals and bam, that's it. Rebecca wanted the ENTIRE experience captured, so my day with her started off at the salon.

We then headed over to the gorgeous Ayres hotel in Redlands where she and her girls did their makeup and got dressed--except of course for her. My assistant Gina and I were snuck into the room where the dress was being held, as the guys were staying at this hotel as well. ~~We just had to get a peek~~ we're photographers and it's our job, I swear.

Meanwhile, those guys were getting ready in their room as well. Rebecca specifically requested just one photo for the entire day. She wanted a picture of Ruben buttoning up their little two year old Matthew, who you may remember from last month's carrot and bunny rich adventures. "Even if he's just pretending to do it, I gotta have that picture!" Well, thanks to my stunning assistant Gina, the picture did indeed happen.

I even rode with the girls over to the Edwards Mansion. My view from the back seat:

From there, it was showtime. We climbed three flights of stairs up to the quaint little bridal room at the top of the mansion. Rebecca became overwhelmed by the sight of her dress and veil hanging in the window, and needed her mom.

By this point I had whipped out my cell and started dialing every number they told me might reach someone who would be able to tell her mother to get up there! I'm pretty handy like that. I also carry a bag full of emergency supplies such as band aids and safety pins. Being the one vendor who is almost always guaranteed to be within 12 feet of the couple at all times means sometimes attending to more important duties.

Finally Mom came, there were some very emotional moments (which is why I also carry tissues) and then the bride was properly zipped up.

Once she was safely escorted down the stairs of the mansion by her step father, the pianist began to play...

And that's when I told the bride "see ya later" because I had to get to my post up at the gazebo!

Unless rules of the church or venue state otherwise, I am literally IN the ceremony with my 50mm lens. There are a few reasons that I do this. Aside from the fact that we encourage the guests to enjoy the ceremony rather than watch it through a viewfinder since after all, we're the hired help and the guests should get to enjoy being guests without any duties, one of the things that stands out in my wedding photography to the couples that hire me is my attention to detail during important moments of the ceremony, such as the lighting of the unity candle, pouring colored sands together in a vessel, and of course, the ring exchange. I pay very close attention to hands, because hands are so intimate and distinctly human.

One other thing I stick around so close for? The moment he sees his bride, and his eyes begin to well with tears.

I have not met a groom who hasn't teared up at the sight of his bride, and this is my absolute favorite moment to catch. Second only to the moments involving hands.

This next photo is a few split seconds memorialized forever. The couple's son Matthew, the ring bearer, had the rings around his tiny fingers. Here you see the couple opening his hand to collect the rings.

Hands don't stay that tiny forever. How precious that he was so involved in his parent's lovely day, even though he's just a bitty little dude.

The rings were exchanged

The bride shed a tear as the vows were spoken

And the bride's step father directed a sand ceremony.

For those who have never heard of the sand ceremony, the main principal is that the couple is blending their lives together, just as the colored sand blends together. Theirs was a foundation built upon Christ (represented by white sand.) The most symbolic part of the sand ceremony is that once the grains of sand have been mixed in the vessel, you can't ever separate them! And nothing that the couple ever goes through will ever be as hard as trying to separate all that sand.

Finally, they were wed, and Ruben was finally able to kiss his bride

(And that must have been one heck of a kiss, because this girl exfoliated, glossed, and perfected her lips before leaving the hotel!)

All right! Party time now!

EVERYBODY had fun dancing! And little Matthew even clung to his daddy's leg during the mother-son dance!

Two Weddings, Two Days, One Mansion {Redlands Edward Mansion Wedding Photography}

I am quite busy at the moment finishing up the photos from Rebecca & Ruben and Kelly & Trent's weddings last weekend. My first back to back weddings, and at the same location no less!

The Edwards Mansion is a spectacular place for a wedding or reception. I highly recommend the Green House, as the lighting is absolutely gorgeous in there! And it's no wonder it's so popular right now. Edwards Mansion is running a special for a free ceremony if you put a deposit on your reception.

And then you'll naturally want to be booking us as your photographer ;)

Well, back to work on these pictures so I can get them to these newlyweds in an uber timely manner as usual!

The Photo Booth At Ruben & Rebecca's Wedding {Inland Empire Photo Booth Services}

The wedding was fabulous! I had a great time following Rebecca around from the salon to the bridal suite on the third floor of the Edward's Mansion, to the reception where I got to meet many of her very amusing guests!

The wedding pictures are still being processed, but for those of you who enjoyed our photo booth, those pictures are now ready! You can view them by clicking here. Feel free to download the photos and post them to your Facebook profiles.

"Willie's Photo Booth" is a new and experimental service that we recently launched. It may be rented as a stand alone service or added on to your wedding or event services, both at a low introductory rate (so book now!) It is an excellent way for the guests to give the bride and groom the gift of updated portraits for their walls and photo albums!

We also provide a large array of props, in case you want to get silly and make the couple laugh when they flip through what came out of the photo booth!

Lucky Dog! Art Shoot With Adar The Afghan Hound In Redlands {Inland Empire Pet Art Portraiture}

What can I say, I LOVE ADAR! Who doesn't? Just look at this face and tell me that you don't love that Muppet-like hair and those big soulful expressive eyes.

Adar is a service dog, and is very sweet. His human Terre tells me he's only about a year and a half. He's been featured in Rover, which I'm not entirely familiar with but everyone is clamoring to work with this beautiful creature. Terre is lucky to have such a friend.

Here he is helping her shop for handbags on State Street. He's got good taste. And so much personality! At one point his human accidentally stepped on his tail. You better believe that when she'd ask him to sit with his back toward her he turned right around and parked his butt down and looked up at her like "NO!"

Adar is a name that means "Noble," and though he is quite noble at times, he can also be very silly and headstrong.

But he does look very noble in this one that we took at Hillside Memorial Park.

He looks as if he's protecting the graves. Is that not hang-over-the-fireplace artwork? I know I personally am going to have this one enlarged for my own wall!

In experimenting with textures, I also put together this one that we took at the old train station on Orange. I call it "All Dogs Go To Heaven."

Doesn't he just look like he's waiting there for someone? I could not have imagined a better result for this one.

Colman's Modeling Session At The A.K. Smiley Library In Redlands {Inland Empire Photographer}

I've been fortunate enough to meet some of the most stunning people recently, and granted the awesome opportunity to photograph them too. Here are a few photos that I took of Colman, who is hoping to get into modeling.

I like to meet with the models for a sort of "test run" session, where we don't do anything too arty or drastic so that we can see how well we click with one another.

Colman, upon seeing the photos said "They're so dreamlike! I look dreamlike! I can't believe I'm looking at myself." These are stunning photos of him, aren't they?

The R. Family {Yucaipa Family Portraits}

I met up with the R. Family at Flag Hill Park for what I'm told was their first family portraits in a very long time. Possibly ever. Mary told me that they'd been putting it off, trying to lose weight, trying to juggle schedules, then realized that there's no better time than the present.

So, that's where I came in. Here now I've proceeded with their portraits, no further excuses allowed!

What an adorable little family. My favorite just has to be Jackson, of course. But I'm pretty sure he's their favorite too.

His mom told me to "get those freckles!"

I try to get a lot of "little moments" when I take families out, like the son giving mom a flower...

Or little ones rolling down the hill...

This is what they call their "Family Kiss..."

The sun was totally blaring down as this shoot had been scheduled before the time change and I didn't take into account what 5:00 in the afternoon would look like in the middle of April (seemed to be just fine in March, what happened???) but it was great working with this family. Jackson is a very lucky little boy.

Beaumont Announces Its 2011 Free Summer Concert Series

Wow, and here I was thinking that Joan Jett wrecked everything for all of us.

Here's the run down:

Three Dog Night and the group The Basix will kick off the series July 4. They will be followed by The Bangles on July 13, The Commodores on July 20 and Kansas on July 27. The series will close on Aug. 3 with Rick Springfield.

This is the fifth year the city has provided the popular concert series. The concerts are free and held at night at Stewart Park.

In Redlands With Celie {Inland Empire Fashion Photographer}

I'm fairly new at working with models, and Celie happens to be my first model who isn't either pin up or pretending to be dead or bleeding somehow for an art shoot. But I tried my hand with Celie, who is 15 and wants to build her portfolio. We went to a few locations in Redlands, including Prospect Park, State Street and the old railroad tracks that cross Orange.

Celie is a gorgeous Brazilian girl with a Libra birthday and hopes of becoming a well known model someday.

These are the seats at the old theater in Prospect Park that I also took Carolyn to.

Someone had written a poem in the sand at Prospect Park, and used nearby wisteria flowers to fill in some of the letters. To get her to smile like that, I said "Your boyfriend wrote you this love letter!"

We moved on to State Street and hit the back alleys.

The risky part was when we found this stuff sitting outside of a shop. I had her run up and stand with this wicked cool tandem bike for a few clicks. Then we ran over to the organ.

Shooting At Shandin Hills Golf Club {Inland Empire Wedding Photographer}

Got the opportunity to go to a group shoot at the Shandin Hills Golf club to take some photos for vendors who want to be able to use them for advertising purposes, etc. Basically, several vendors donated their services and the photographers, models, make up artists and hair stylists donated their time and talents. Everybody wins!

Though the brides were all just models, it gave me more practice toward posing people in big expensive dresses and testing out different lighting situations and equipment. I'm always willing to learn a thing or two whenever I can.

Easter's On It's Way! {Inland Empire Easter Portraits}

Say hello to Matthew He is two.

Matthew's mom and dad wanted his Easter portraits taken. What a coincidence! I'm a photographer, and I happen to have lots of Easter props such as eggs, bunnies, and baskets. I even went the extra mile to buy fresh carrots from the grocery store to "feed" the bunnies.

The carrots were later broken to bits in a bout of toddler rage. As I said, he is two.

Despite his loathing the carrots, we all had a great time chasing him around and trying to get him to pick up the eggs and put them in the basket--which he never quite got down. These pictures were taken in Matthew's front yard where he was in his own element and more comfortable. Truth be told, we'd originally tried to do this shoot the day before at Wildwood Park, but he'd been refusing naps all day and rage-quit the session. This boy was NOT having it!

Kids do things like this all the time, and when they happen, I am always happy to reschedule for another time perhaps when he is more rested and in a better mood. And sometimes it pays to make home visits with little guys like this. No need for the parents to be bewildered and swear up and down to me that "he usually isn't like this." I'm a parent too, and I understand that toddlers have mood swings. Some are even extremely polite and will say "I just don't want to today."

But everyone wants a clean, smiling baby on picture day, so that's what we got when we worked around his busy schedule.

Matthew's session also came with a few one of a kind Digital Greeting Cards that mom and dad can have printed.

Life Is No Cabaret: A Circus Of Love And Scandal by Jessie Terwilliger {Inland Empire Art Photographer}

There is so much that I can say about the pictures that I took on Sunday at "Cirque de Shutterstories," an early 1900's circus themed photo shoot at a Riverside photo studio that I was able to attend, but I'm so overwhelmed with what I could say that I don't intend to say much and instead just let the pictures speak for themselves as usual.

What started off as a "why would I go to that and take the same pictures as everyone else" attitude ended with fun, friendships, and one heck of a spectacular set of pictures to show for it. I'd held off on buying tickets at first because of the whole idea of it being staged, and I imagined it would be like the class I had recently taken where everything was set up and we took turns shooting. I'm so glad I went, because that didn't turn out to be so at all. There were models, all in mime makeup and/or fabulous costumes, and they just walked around so that you could snag one and say "hey, I need you over here." There were five different sets, plus we had run of the outside, and circus props such as hay bales, trapeze ropes, and even a whip!

Though it was a little more personal than just "hey let me take your picture," where you'd take your model to whatever set or area you wanted to use, maybe hand her a snake and snap away, it was very interesting in that we were all able to capture our own unique photos (there were about 30 photographers, three of them being Rey, one of my assistants in training, and I.)

So before I show a few of the photos here, I want to say a few quick things.

Using the stories that the photos tell, I am going to create a graphic novel. More about that later.

DIY Pin Up Look For Photos (From The Broke Creative Bride)

It seems that nobody can get over how adorable Samantha looked for her engagement photos earlier this month. Nearly every client I've met with, plus a few Flickr contacts and my assistants have commented on how cute she is, and how they might want to try this look for their own shoot.

Broke Creative Bride shared some tips on getting that Pin Up style glamor, including those cool 1940's bangs, and I couldn't resist passing this on to you. For the record, this is the site that Samantha ordered that darling dress from. I have no idea who did her hair but I know that she did have it professionally done.

Remember, your local thrift store might have one heck of a dress for a bargain, so be sure to look there as well!

Art Portraits Of Carolyn In Redlands {Redlands Photographer}

You might remember Carolyn from the Valentines Day pin up shoot. Yesterday I took her to two locations in Redlands known for their gorgeous scenery: Prospect Park and Hillside Memorial Park--which of course happens to be a cemetery.

If you haven't quite pieced it together, when I'm not shooting adorable little toddlers by duck filled lakes and asking newly wed grooms to dip their lovely brides and closing in on a newborn's wrinkled brow, I tend to gravitate toward a slightly darker and more off beaten path style of art photography. I love junk yards, cemeteries, graffiti covered canals, anything that might be considered a bit "underbelly" but still showing its own kind of beauty.

The original location of Carolyn's shoot was going to be in the same flowery fields that you saw in Samantha and Robert's engagement photos. When she arrived with her pale makeup, long long hair and simple white dress with a black ribbon at her waist, my mind suddenly had other plans. Carolyn, who also tends to be a fan of underbelly type locations, was very much up for it.

First we stopped at Hillside. The weather was kind of gloomy and we were just a little bit worried we might get rained out. No rain thankfully, so we were able to walk around the very quiet and lovely grounds, stopping to read a few names along the way.

Last time I did a shoot in a cemetery things were a bit different due to the fact that the subject was actually a mortician and recognized many of the names on the graves as people she herself had buried. Is a cemetery a bit of an odd place to do a photo shoot you might ask? It depends on how you look at it. My clients and I are always very respectful of the graves, the grounds, and the people in them (living or dead.) If we see any mourners we immediately stop the shoot and either take a break or leave altogether. Hillside Memorial is a large cemetery, so if there happened to be a mourner, another option would be to move our location to somewhere else on the grounds.

When I took this next photo, I did not have the intention of rotating it, but somehow that's what ended up happening when I took it into post processing. I also enhanced the red tones in her skin and muted the rest of the colors, then used a special filter to give the grass and the graves that bluish-green tint.

We moved on to nearby Prospect Park, which I had never been to but that one of my assistants kept suggesting to me as a location to shoot. Well, when in Redlands, right? As it turns out, Prospect Park isn't much of a park in the sense of playgrounds, it's more like a garden and walking park with a spectacular view and a theater. I've lived in this area my whole life and I'd never actually been to this park. What a beautiful place to shoot engagements or even senior portraits!

There's a beautiful view of the orange groves, which we promptly took advantage of. We only picked this one orange for this shot, and I'm glad we didn't pick any more since I later spotted a "picking is prohibited" sign. Oops.

Mini Shoot For The McGoofball Family {Inland Empire Family Portrait Photographer}

I got a call at 10:30 last night asking if I'd be available to do a quick family shoot at 8:15 this morning before everyone had to run off to work. The family wanted to get pictures done in time for grandpa's upcoming birthday, and I said I'd be glad to help. We agreed to do a Mini Shoot, which usually equals 20 minutes and 20 final photos, and generally reserved for couples, adult families, and pets.

Though it was raining, everything was all wet and sloshy, and everyone was freezing cold, we pulled off a fast shoot on the corner of Beaumont Ave. and Cougar.

When I asked the mom what she was hoping to see in her pictures, she said "Fun. Nothing emotional or touchy or dramatic, just us having fun and being ourselves." One of the men said that he'd considered wearing a monocle but "he didn't have the mustache for it today." I immediately knew what I would be working with.

So I told them to just have at it and run amok.

Groups like this are so much fun to shoot. Especially when they do stuff like this:

What I Learned At Yesterday's Studio Lighting Workshop

I'm new to studio photography, and I'm not actually a very big fan of it. However, there are instances that call for the privacy of a studio, such as boudoir, not to mention I do a lot of "traveling studio" type shoots when I photograph infants in their homes. I want to learn as much as I can about lighting and light sources so that I can deliver the best photos possible to my clients. So yesterday I attended a SmugMug workshop on studio lighting and posing.

The best possible thing that I learned was that Shutter Stories in Riverside CA rents out their studio and all of the equipment I used yesterday for only $40 an hour (minimum of two hours.) So everything I created yesterday is possible for me to re create for my clients.

This was one fun shoot for such a fun couple!

Samantha told me that she wanted an old fashioned kind of engagement shoot. Her vision was sort of a vintage love, pinup girl, "back then" feel. She told me there would be a bit of costuming involved, and asked if I could make the pictures themselves look old in post processing. Luckily, I have access to a time machine, so aging the pictures was no trouble.

Samantha wasn't kidding when she said she was dressing up for the shoot! She was the cutest with her little pin up dress and matching flower in her hair! She spent hours getting her hair and makeup done, and she looked so gosh dern spiffy that I couldn't stand to keep her locked up in the house doing a living room shoot. I suggested the gorgeous wildflower fields in Beaumont for a sweet sort of lovers on a date feel. I think the change of location was just what we needed.

Samantha and Robert were so cute. The men are usually sort of just tagging along on these engagement shoots it seems, either less than excited about these pictures or uninterested, and Robert was somewhat in between, but it didn't keep him from laughing along with her at my stupid "make the people laugh" photographer jokes. Plus, it's hard not to smile with how ridiculously gorgeous Samantha is. She seriously rocked the "pin up" attitude.

Congrats you two, and I'll be seeing you at your wedding in October.

Ryahn's Six Month Portraits {Inland Empire Baby Phtographer}

Remember Ryahn? He got bigger.

Last time I saw Ryahn he was no bigger than his daddy's hands...

Now look at him!

This shoot was done in the comfort of Ryahn's home just like his first one. But so much has changed in six months! Look at all that yummy chub!

The funnest part was when we filled up his little baby bath tub with bubbles and let him have at it.

Babies are slippery and they tend to fling soap everywhere as they flail their limbs. Probably not the safest environment for a camera to be in but well worth the risk.

Ryahn hammed it up once he was all dried off and mom put on his robe.

This guy could sure cop an attitude though!

But most of the time he was all smiles.

Dillan's Newborn Shoot {Inland Empire Newborn Photographer}

When I have a newborn to photograph, I tell the parents that the best location is their very own home. This way you won't forget that one outfit that Grandma sent and you really want a picture of him in, or worst case scenario, spare diapers.

April had a small amount of space for me to work in, but that was just fine. I brought a few blankets and backdrops, plus a few of my most adorable props and we set up a "mini studio" right there in the living room for Dillan's first photo shoot.

Because his mother has signed up for our new Grow With Me package, I've been invited back to take his 3, 6, 9 months, and one year photos as well. The package also includes maternity and newborn, so it's just four more sessions to go! And I am very much looking forward to them.

A Boy Turns Three {Inland Empire Child Portrait Photographer}

Toddlers have a mind of their own. And the boy I refer to as Xaxxypants is no different as he transitions into threedom. His mother wanted to be sure to get his birthday portraits done, because he is, in her words, her "favorite boy ever."

Xa is certainly adorable, but he gave me a run for my money all along that beautiful nature trail in Oak Glen!

His best friend came along and was just about as hyperactive and opinionated. Talk about two peas in a pod...

I call this boy Xaxxypants because his mother describes him as a "rock star." I was treated to a concert once she handed him his toy guitar, which he strummed and yelled YEAH YEAH YEAH and ROCK AND ROLL!

I love when parents bring props of their own, such as the child's favorite toy or blanket. He did come with a few different outfits, but he looked like he enjoyed being a rock star best. Oh but rock stars are good to their mamas though. The boy even picked her a flower.

He's gonna break a lot of hearts someday.

Welcome To The World Dillan Eli {Inland Empire Baby Photographer}

April and Nick welcomed their little "Pickle" to the world Thursday night at 9 PM. I was promptly notified the next morning so that I could capture those ever important hospital photos that never seem to turn out right. (Hospital lighting isn't exactly easy to work with.)

Get a load of this adorable little dude.

April is looking gorgeous, as is Grandma.
